purpose

Why this site exists

This site is a record of how I learn. Every new tool, language, and workflow I take on gets documented here — the goals, the process, the dead ends, and the skills that come out the other side, from new programming languages to registration software to Python-driven 3D tools. In the age of AI, where a certificate's worth of polish can be generated in seconds, I've come to believe the more honest signal is the journey — the work behind the skill, not just the credential at the end. Think of it as a ledger of authenticity: a second factor of verification for what someone can actually do. Anyone can claim a credential; far fewer can show the work behind it. That's the purpose of this site.

work

From the field to the model

I turn the physical world into measurable, usable data — laser scans into engineering deliverables, point clouds into answers, and raw datasets into decisions.

SCAN → REGISTER → DELIVER

Reality Capture

Terrestrial LiDAR scanning and point cloud processing for industrial and offshore facilities. Registration, QA, as-built extraction, and dimensional control — getting geometry you can trust out of millions of measurements.

  • FARO SCENE / As-Built
  • Cintoo / Navisworks
  • Dimensional control & as-builts
DATA → ANALYSIS → INSIGHT

Data Science

Analysis and tooling in Python and R — from geometric computation on point cloud data to reproducible reports and interactive calculators that put answers in front of the people who need them.

  • Python / R / Quarto
  • Computational geometry
  • Interactive tools & dashboards
MODEL → SLICE → PRINT

3D Printing & Visualization

Translating complex facility models into physical prints and real-time visual experiences. Mesh optimization, print preparation workflows, and visualization pipelines in Blender and Unreal Engine.

  • Blender / Unreal Engine
  • Mesh optimization for FDM
  • Digital signage & displays

approach

Existing to improve

The monogram stands for Learning MORE — the belief that every project, dataset, and failure is raw material for the next, better version.

Measure first

Opinions are cheap; measurements are not. Whether it's a deck leg centerline or a process bottleneck, I start by capturing ground truth.

Learn in public

Documenting the work — derivations, tooling, mistakes — turns one person's lesson into a team's capability.

Build the tool

If a task is done twice, it deserves a script. If it's done weekly, it deserves an interface anyone can use.

Iterate relentlessly

First versions exist to be improved. Shipping something imperfect and refining it beats polishing something unshipped.

experience

From the flight line to the field

2015 — 2023

Load Planning & Strategic Deployment Specialist

United States Air Force — 2T2 Air Transportation

Optimized aircraft load plans and performed weight & balance analysis for global strategic airlift missions. Conducted data-driven forecasting for cargo capacity, center-of-gravity calculations, and deployment scheduling to maximize payload efficiency while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance. Utilized spreadsheet modeling and logistics data systems to support embarkation, debarkation, and large-scale mobility operations.

2019 — PRESENT

Reality Capture Specialist

Strategy Engineering & Consulting — Houston, TX

Laser scanning, point cloud registration, and as-built deliverables for onshore and offshore energy facilities. Built geometric analysis tooling for structural surveys, coordinated multi-discipline model requests, and developed internal visualization and digital signage systems.
